He is on a tight schedule. Batting cage 6 days a week followed by speed and agility training. He gets the lords day off from real training, but you better believe were throwing in the front yard.

Think you misread the report. Kaisonn was a predominant fastball thrower and had the surgery but it had more to do with his record 55 complete games and 12,100 pitches he threw in his 8 yr old season.

First tournament not until April

Right now we are working on conditioning and building strength. Also getting a lot of one on one instruction with his hitting instructor

Son has his first team practice today. We’ve been practicing together getting better.

Sorry to admit to the OT that he does not play travel ball. I’d probably take someone up on the offer if asked but he’s not ready yet. Nor is he playing year round. Probably eliminates him from 95% of the teams anyway.

ETA: another OT disappointing revelation. His name is a solid, classical American name. There’s no fricking XYZs in his name.

how old is he?

sadly, a lot of kids that play travel ball aren't "ready" yet but on the flipside the talent at the parks is so poor that its hard to gain anything by playing there regardless. Just keep working at home as much as possible.

It will. Friend's son does travel ball and I've been to a couple of his games. The parents are fricking ruthless towards blue. Setting really good examples for the kids.

I played travel ball as a kid and let be the first to tell you, this shite shreds a kids arm. Take your time on tournament ball, but if he's going to a big baseball high school, then you probably will need to get him in tournament ball by 12 because it's so competitive.

I find rec a good spot to learn and practice fundamentals. And the rec league has a ton of kids playing. Including tourney ball kids.

He’s just 7, so I’m not putting him through that bullshite ringer. I know how it all works. At this point, he’d just be filler/depth. And like i said, I refuse to play him all year round. He likes playing football and basketball too. A lot of these nutjob tourney coaches that think they’re some hotshot “manager,” needs to understand that there’s more than just baseball.

Im not too worried about parents or coaches yelling. I'm just worried about internal game management stuff, but ill be fine

They got plenty of teams that do it right and don't take things overly serious at that age, key is finding the right group of people.

7 and 8 are great years to play w a team cause its still coach pitch and its a fun game to watch the kids compete in before kid pitching.

Yeah. That would be my ultimate goal. Hopefully he will still enjoy it by then. He will be going to a 5A school, so there will be plenty of talent. But like I said, in the end it’s not worth ruining his arm or his enjoyment of playing ball/sports.

That’s why I’m taking it so slow with him. There’s definitely a timeline.

That's what I tell my sister when she has her 10 yr old son playing fricking fall ball travel tourneys. Let the kid hunt and fish in the offseason for Christ's sake.

I did travel soccer growing up, and this was one thing I hated about it. Soccer wasn't even my favorite sport to play, but I was good at it and the coaches wanted me on the team. The soccer season cut into basketball season, which was my favorite sport to play. I was on the middle school basketball team, but rarely got to play because I missed practices because of soccer.
