If I remember correctly, that was the little league World Series a few years back. The kids hurt his arm and couldn’t do anything with it. They couldn’t sub, so he has to go up to bat. He did the crouch thing on his own. Not a big deal.

Pretty sure the kid’s right arm was hurt and would’ve been an out had he not attempted to bat. Gets on with a walk, pinch runner can take his place. Still dumb for squatting but at least he was trying.
The coach should’ve told him to try and make contact some kind of way, take to get a walk, hope to get hit, or take the out from a K.

As short as that kid at bat is, it would have been a ball (high) had he remained standing next to the plate. He should go over to the dugout and whack his coach in the shins with that bat for suggesting he crouch like that!

My 11 and 12 year old team lost 1 game in 2 years because a kid did this. Got a walk off walk. Good for the ump to call a strike a strike.
