Yankees are racist as f&%k as soon as there's no minorities around. Yet, at the same time, they'll call out and throw anyone under the bus for even the slightest inkling of insensitivity in public. It's all pure projection, and it's absolutely insane.

I would go to New Orleans a lot and hang out with my friends who went to Tulane and Loyola. I was shocked at how racist a lot of the big city northerners they went to school with were.

In Louisiana yes people can be racist, but at the end of the day we all still have to live together and interact on a daily basis. Those kids from up North talked about and treated other people like they weren't even human.

I've had several friends from AZ visit New Orleans and while they all said they had fun they all commented how they were surprised at just how dirty the city is

EVERY.frickING.THREAD.

We get it, you think Louisiana sucks and you're so glad that you moved to the Never Never Land of Arizona.

I would have expected more stories about Cajun/creole cooking. Most transplants that I talk to tend to bring this up right away.

Also the size of the meals that we have. We like to do big portions down here. Sunday dinner is a all out feast!

Also dinner vs supper vs lunch

I grew up in the north immersed among a lot of old school Italian families. They take Sunday family dinner to a whole different level.
The food in La didn’t surprise me as I knew and heard enough about it to expect it.
Same with the accents and word choices to a certain extent. I didn’t realize how regional the Louisiana accents were and some people from Nola had a thicker NY/NJ accent than I did.
I completely jumped over makes/females. Women in Lousiana were more attractive than up north but part of that was more women try harder at LSU than they do a Northern Insert State U. Girls where I went to undergrad rolled out of bed and wore a baseball hat, sweatshirt, and sweat pants to class. At LSU girls showed up to 8am class like they were going to Prom.
Also the girls were much more approachable. It’s also wasn’t a commonly accepted to approach women you don’t know up north.
The guys from Louisiana came across as all over the place. A lot of New Iberia haircut crew guys, white gangsta’s from Walker, Watson, and Denham, guys from Mandeville and Covington who kind of thought they summered on the Vineyard but didn’t get the look or feel right. Not as many guys from the south (back then at least) didn’t work out or didn’t look like they did. When friends of mine from the north came down they felt like the women were easy pickings because of lack of competition. Also for whatever reason it seemed like in Louisiana guys were either Pro athlete caliber (which is obviously a small percentage) or didn’t really play sports at all. I kind of blamed that on the fact in Louisiana you either play division 1 college sports or you don’t play at all (with very few exceptions) up north at state like PA has almost 100 Division 2 and maybe 200 Division 3 schools all with a full compliment of sports teams. NJ has 15 or so division 3 schools with a full compliment of sports programs. More people play competitive sports up north later in life than people in Lousiana.

Dude....you are the one getting so upset you felt the need to post this on pg 9 of a thread. One I hadn’t posted in since pg 3

You always seemed more of the laid back type during the Semolina days.

And my only point was people trying to make it seem like looser liquor laws are this unique thing to South LA...and sorry....it’s just not the case. Several other non Southern states have lax liquor laws.

Guy who made that original post about his friend from California likely made it up anyways as another guy from California also pointed out he was wrong.

But good to know I have triggered y’all. You guys are such easy targets. Suckers every single time

No. you came into this thread just to make people feel stupid and try to act superior like always. The point of this thread was to talk about things you thought about south LA that were wrong. Not about Arizona. People not from the state assume south Louisiana is hard core bible beating full of blue laws. They come here and realize it’s the opposite.

THAT IS ALL. Goodbye now

No they don’t. Anyone from out of state thinks of NOLA and getting drunk when they think of Louisiana. There are a ton of transplants where I live...so I meet people from all over the U.S. The comment I get the most when they learn I’m from Louisiana is “oh yeah I’ve been to New Orleans before” and talk about all the drinking/partying they did or “one day I would love to visit New Orleans”

It’s so cute that you think you can control who posts in a thread. Like you are the boss of the thread. What a loser.

Yall’s reading comprehension sucks big time if you are saying I came in here making it all about AZ. Especially when I’m posting about California as well. Maybe I should have clarified that my friends in AZ (who are actually originally from all over the U.S.) that have visited New Orleans have all commented how dirty it is. That doesn’t make it about AZ....it makes it again about what others thought upon their first visit to South Louisiana.

Y’all are just so easily triggered that any post I make now in these threads y’all are freaking out not even thinking with basic logic.

Didn’t read that garbage.

You should learn to take a hint. When multiple posters try to tell you to piss off, maybe just try it? It’s not just me who doesn’t want you here. Others too
