Jan 5, 2024: Early this morning a tragic accident at a hunting camp claimed the life of Neville HS DB Tarver Braddock. Two others are in area hospitals. Around 2:30am, a fire broke out on the hunting camp porch. Two of his friends tried to get him out but were unsuccessful.
Please wrap this family, the others injured, their friends and classmates in prayer.

From Natchez newspaper
UPDATE: Six teens total involved in fire at Jefferson County deer camp, ‘One didn’t make it’
JEFFERSON COUNTY — The state fire marshal is still investigating the cause of a fire at a deer camp in Jefferson County which claimed the life of one Monroe, Louisiana teen and injured five more. Sheriff James Bailey said authorities responded to the fire at approximately 4 a.m. on Friday on Noble Swamp Road. The structure, which appeared to be a mobile home, was destroyed, he said.
The state fire marshal came down and right now it’s an ongoing investigation. The whole structure is gone,” Bailey said. Condolences circulated on social media for the family of 15-year-old Tarver Braddock, a junior at Neville High School in Monroe who did not survive the fire. Bailey said all of the survivors had “burns and bad lacerations from the tin and glass” on the structure. One was treated at a Jefferson County hospital and four others went to Merit Health Natchez. One of those four was later transferred to a hospital in Jackson.

At least since the 70s. And they have to be at least 12’ apart from each other.

A lot of camp houses are singlewides, which can be death traps in a fire. They are not easy to get out of in a fire.
Often one of the two doors is either non-functional or difficult to use. I once went along on an inspection of some singlewides in a trailer park, and it was amazing how many had some issue with one of the doors (blocked, non-working, lock unreliable, etc.).
