Sounds like you’d know about Trade School.

We don’t care to hear about the 69 thing opening up.

Just go on about your business, we’ll be fine. Thanks

We should start exposing high school kids to mandatory trade classes as a part of high school. Kids need to understand that welding, electrical, plumbing is a hell of a career. You don’t need to be forced to go to college and spend $200k on a degree.

Somewhere along the way these professions were deemed inferior by our education system. There is constant demand for these fields and the earning potential is excellent but we’ve been conditioned to believe that some going nowhere cubical job making $50k per is better than working a trade.

I knew a guy that started college at UL for enignering, around the same time I started trade school 13 years ago. He would give me so much crap about how he would make more money, he was better blah blah. Now he lives in a shack and decided one day after being an engineer for 4 years only making 35k a year and student loans, it wasnt for him. I wont discuss what he does now, but you dont need a 4 year college degree.

There were some other things taught in school that have gone by the wayside. It’s sad. It’s a good way to bring people out of poverty.

I love when people like you make fun of trade guys. Welders are capable of making lots of money. And make even more money sitting around a site just waiting for something to break.

Just because ole baw makes more money than you and fricks your wife; doesn’t make him any less than you.

Speaking of that, don’t you have a poem to go write, broke dick?

China kicks our arse in manufacturing because they put an emphasis on Vocational and Technical education. Here in the states, you're brought up to be a "college graduate" so that you don't have to do those "blue collar" jobs.

We abandoned that sector and it has come back to bite us. We now rely on countries such as China for way too much.

Teach more people trade and voc tech to make this country less reliant on others I say

Probably has more to do with them working for $1.20 a day than an emphasis on vocation.

In my high school, it was mandatory.
I ended up taking equine science, a couple business classes, masonry and something else.

If I ever have kids they are going to a vocational high school. Just a lot more options if they do not choose to go to a uni. And would have that ability to dabble in blue collar stuff.

Drop out at 10 grade got my good enough and been making bank sence. I dont have to be smart to sit on my arse for 10 hours waiting on fitters to make up my pipe to weld. I'll go back to my blue collar 48 hrly and 130 a day job.

“your” dum to

I’m not the poem writer here.

If some kind of class envy is your gig, god bless you.

I’m happy with my life, I’m hopeful your happy with your life.

I wasn’t goofing on the welder to start with, he’s just looking for offense.
