Toyota full size/ work van, Hiace

I'm a car guy. I get all the magazines so I know all the cars for sale in the US usually. Today I saw a Toyota van I've never seen before. Driving on I10 through lake Charles. Looking it up it is sold only in counties that get the Hilux. Not in Tacoma countries.
Still it could come with demand.
I remember seeing four door F150s and Rangers years before they went on sale in the US with Mexican plates. Eventually they went on sale here. As someone whose fiddled with Ford Transits and Nissan vans I would welcome a Hilux based van.
It wasn't pretty but knowing Toyota I know that it's a solid product.
This one I saw was decked out pulling a camper. A well to do Mexican family pulling a small maybe 4.5klb RV through the US.(had stickers of the states they went to on it)
It would make a nice adventure van for sure. It's a good size van it looks small in images but it's between an ASTRO van and a Transit in size. Though it was effortlessly pulling at about 65mph.
Anyone know why we don't get the good Japanese work vans here? Only European and Nissan?
I wish I could import one of these in base trim.
LINK
It has the same drive train as a Tacoma.
And I totally get that it's "just an ugly van". As unreliable sprinter vans and Transits become more popular for families that take road trips and for work use. It would be amazing to have an option that was as reliable as a tacoma/hilux.
Same price about $30-35k.

With all the work style vans you see on the road now, would be interesting if Toyota entered the market.

Van life seems to be getting more popular too.

Saw one on the interstate headed to Nola a while back. Mexican plates. Some kind of church van.

If there is a high roof model, I would love one for our deliveries.

I rode in a couple HiAce Taxis in MX. They very basic and rode kinda rough, but for a work van they would be great.

Next year there will only be two. The transit and the sprinter.
The nv2000 is gone. The Chevy van is gone The transit connect ends next year. The pro master ends next year.

I noticed that with the hilux we rode in in Mx. But I can swap suspension to fit my needs.

High Impact African Culling Equipment
I used to work in South Africa- they use them as bush taxis and pile 20-ish people into one- the wrecks are horrific.
Hawkers will hang out the passenger side hustling people to get on based on what general direction they are going

Great work van. But Mexico doesn't require all of the safety features US does. Would probably be 35-45 in US.

That lifted one would look sweet with a matte paint job
