I had been wondering, that tornado went literally over the top of a marina the boat I just bought (yes, the one we jokingly called the “U.S.S. Saloon Platoon”) came from
It was called Cypress Springs Resort, I guess I’m gonna holler at the previous owner and see how things are there

Things aren't good there. It was talked about a little in this thread I believe earlier today.

Actually I looked into it and that was a a place called Cypress resort that some duck hunters were killed at but it was far west of where I’m talking about, that one was Near Tiptonville, TN
The name was really close

in Dawson Springs with friend and fellow damage surveyor Tim Troutman (retired NWS). We are trying to figure out the EF scale rating for a flying refrigerator!

The sanctuary collapsed at the First Christian Church but stairwells did better. Other churches had similar sanctuary failures but some stairwells were filled with debris. Safest places were the lower restrooms.

someone in his comments asked if he has come across evidence of multiple vortices
his response to that question...

Preliminary Tornado Damage Survey in Cave City, KY reveals at least EF-1 damage. This area will continue to be surveyed in the coming days. It is unsure at this point if this will connect to other tornado damage paths.

Where are you seeing stories? Just curious if it’s social media or a weather message board.

Yes, Helen Hunt and Bill Paxton should have been shredded within the first 20 minutes of Twister.

I used to work in the world of orthopedic medicine.
One of my buddies was a resident at OU’s Ortho program during Moore 2013 and was on the trauma rotation.
He assisted in the treatment of a patient that had a large, mostly intact, 2x4 that was driven through the side of the patient’s head. The patient lived.

They should. They won't, but they should. She also should not have allowed those photos to be broadcast as she has. Those can be valuable in the current market.

Tim is the man surveying the damage. They can say they were waiting on a team, but it was Tim they were waiting on. He's pretty much the only man in the country right now that they will allow to rate an EF5.

Hopefully, we will see something on the surveys in the Fort Campbell North and Pembroke areas today or tomorrow. NWS Nashville is handling that one. That storm/tornado crossed the TN/KY line and eventually ended up in Bowling Green. I'm interested in seeing what it did between Dover, KY and Pembroke, KY, specifically.
This is what that storm looked like:
You can see that RIJ really piling precip up here with much less precip in the RIN area. A classic bookend vortex that is stronger than most you see:
