RadarScope has put a TVS on the radar due west of Tishimingo, MS

there's a notch ahead of it though I doubt anything's there.

ETA: actually velocity does show some rotation nothing crazy

$150 or less.

Would like rain gage, wind speed, temp. etc

There isn't a whole lot of difference at that price point. They're all a crapshoot as far as longevity goes. The Acurite are okay, but have that same issue.

There's still not a great mid grade option out there, though if you can bump that up, or save a bit toward it, the $300-$400 range can be a much better value, particularly considering the cost of replacing it if/when something goes down.

Here is a good resource I found when researching:

I got an Ambient weather WS-290 a couple years ago and it was pretty easy to set up and has never missed a beat

It's really good for measuring temps, humidity, pressure, and precipitation amounts.

The wind measurements don't seem to do to well but that may be more my fault for not having a great place to put it than anything else. I can't remember what it cost now prolly around $200

I meant Ambient instead of Acurite on my post.

Seems redundant if the dangerous event hasn’t occurred yet

This one interests me. It uses brand new tech on the rain gauge, though, and they're still working out some bugs. It has the best lightning detection out there per reviews. Being a single small unit, there are minimal parts to cause issue with wear and tear.

I'd imagine from the Jackson, MS area and to the SW.

Yazoo City always seems to be a good bet during a West Dixie Alley outbreak

18z observed sounding out of Jackson. That'll do it.
