Fewer tornados is literally climate change. We’re doomed.

So global warming was just a myth after all?

Stronger, more frequent, and more destructive storms. Pfft

Agreed.

I was taking care of my mother for a month in Mayfield when this storm hit. I had returned to middle TN overnight to retrieve some personal items and want in Mayfield that one night. Thankfully the storm missed my mom's home.

That very night I was laying right where I am now reading the OT storm thread when it hit.

I'm sure I'm late to the party but I'm sure there are already articles written about how climate change is causing less major tornadoes

Then as soon as we have one there will be a flood of new articles talking about how climate change is causing them again

Same thing happened with hurricanes pre 2017

Should not have just checked the weather forecast here in Iowa for Friday.

The next few days have the chance to be quite lively, all confined to the same general area.

Our Wichita folks need to keep an eye out Saturday.

I didn't know we had another Mayfield poster here. I know Pisco is from there, but didn't know you are. That was a rough, terrible night. Thankfully, we don't have that stomach-churning situation often.....where you know what you are watching and what it has already done for miles and miles. Just a helpless feeling.

I'm glad it missed your mom's house but....

I'm not from Mayfield. My mother is. During the last three years of her life I lived with her 1/3 of the time so we didn't have to put her in a nursing home. The night of the storm I returned home (Nashville area) to retrieve a few things.

Too lazy to find it but I’ve read where “tornado alley” has essentially moved from the plains to the southeast US, as far as number and intensity.

So, thank you SEC for moving all the tornados to your hood.
