I hope the sun does not come out after this first round passes Atlanta. Do not need extra energy to help this out

Good grief... NWS calling on spotters & chasers to call in reports because multiple radars are offline.

On days like today, it feels like NWS just slaps a tornado warning on every cell that comes through. I know they probably don't have a choice, but I worry about people largely disregarding them. We've already had 1-2 warnings for Fulton today, and people just don't really react to them at all.

It looks like 2 radars in SE Bama are down and one in South GA.

I get it and I don't. I'd rather have a warning and it turn out fine than visa versa. End of the day, it's up the people to not be stupid

But having multiple radars down is BAD

Guilty. I get that they have to, but it's almost like the little boy who cried wolf.

I've been browsing the ATL flightaware map this morning and wow, there's flights circling above Tenn, Miss, South Carolina, pretty much all over with tons of diversions already. Would not want to be flying through ATL today, stay safe everyone

which is why the weather people MUST show the tornado when possible

like either through storm chasers... or... like I did for Sunday's Alexandria, LA tornado... find it on a traffic camera

I assume the people issuing warnings have parameters and are just doing what they're supposed to do. But obviously we're going to have a bunch of tornado warnings today that don't come to fruition (a good thing), and I think the "overwarning" is just a byproduct that can have some negative impacts.

I do question whether given the conduciveness for tornadoes today, they're a little more willing to issue the warnings, but I have no first hand knowledge of how that works.

I see it going both ways. I pay attention to the weather and warnings pretty closely, but I also look at radar and ignore warnings when they're in my county but 20 miles away.

Some people ignore them altogether. Some people freak out in south fulton county for a warning 40 miles away in Alpharetta.

I was curious why Alabama was so willing to do that while it hasn't really happened here in GA. We're on spring break in the metro (a lot of areas), but it seems like this has happened before (Alabama closing schools while GA doesn't).

Typically I view central/north Alabama up through Rome GA as the hotspot for long track tornadic potential, but it seems like the area of concern is a lot bigger than that today. Timing maybe?
