Yeah I went to the ortho and he put me through all the tests with my shoulder...I remember doing that one...
That's how we go to where we are....
Thanks for all the advice so far fellas

when I went to pt the therapist told me this was one of the worst things for your shoulders. if you can change the way you sleep it will eventually make a world of difference.
I still wake up at night sometimes with my arms under my pillow, but I try to make an effort to sleep on my back or side now

Only correct answer is to go see a chiropractor.

....I did change some of my workout routine. there were a few exercises that would tear my shoulder apart (mainly incline bench), so I quit doing those, and it seems to have helped.
I also used to sleep on my stomach with my arms under my pillow, and when I went to pt the therapist told me that's one of the worst things for your shoulders.
My shoulder wouldn't even move in that incline press motion. I still don't sleep on my left shoulder even after 5 years.

Tore mine when I dislocated my shoulder for the first time. After about 20 more dislocations I had surgery on it. The surgery sucks arse and will leave you with limited to no use of your arm for about 3 months.

I failed the empty can test with a shoulder injected full of cortisone. We scheduled the surgery not long after.
What I learned from all this is that a 20 foot long piece of rope, a pair of skates, and a Ford Ranger don't go well together and if you take a Judo class make sure the room has a spring loaded floor.

Bench press is the absolute worst thing you can do with a healthy labrum much less hurt. I've lived with mine for 17 yrs now. Exercises can strengthen the muscles around it and avoid surgery but as others said you will never be the same again. One night of sleep and you wake up with a frozen shoulder. I avoided surgery but now have the most unflexible shoulders in the world.

You should. I am lifting heavier than I ever have before more shoulder surgery.
Glucosamine Chondroitin is a good supplement to take for you joints.

Stop jacking off so vigorously.

You'll be fine for golf, you'll mostly be affected in throwing a baseball, if it's ur throwing shoulder, and in certain weight lifting exercises. And it'll tighten up on you in cold weather sometimes. You'll get back to mostly normal

Have the same thing. Can't throw a baseball with much force, can't sleep with arm under pillow, and putting on a jacket is the worst.
I can do inclines and bench, but shoulder raises are completely out of the question.
I'm full of cortisone right now and it has worked but doc wants me to do PT before he suggests the scope.
I'm right there with you. This is going to suck.

I'm the opposite, I can't do incline bench at all, unless I use dumbbells. However I can do any shoulder exercise with no problems...I guess it's just the angle of the incline bench that my shoulders don't like

I think I tore my labrum back in October. Couldn't make any horizontal movements with my arm (putting a seat belt on, etc) without it hurting.
It was still bothering me up until 2 weeks ago when I decided to say screw it, and go play basketball.
I don't know if it was just lucky timing, or stretching/loosening it up..but it feels great

surgery is the only thing that will fix it... wait till it comes out in your sleep at 3 am.... thats whe you realize that you got to get that shizz fixed. 2 months post op right now. not too bad

I had the surgery about 10 years ago. the surgery is as piece of cake. the aftermath and rehab sucks donkey nuts. immobile for 4 weeks and then the real pain starts at rehab. my advice, take your pain meds when you go to therapy or you may pass out.
you will lose all of the muscle in your injured arm and have to slowly build back up. do all of your at home exercises or you won't get full range of motion back. I can do anything now and have a stronger than ever shoulder but can't throw a ball for crap

Do lots and lots of Crossfit. You'll heal it right up.

Tore mine sticking my arm through a handle and getting drug wakeskating about 5 years ago. I didn't opt for surgery and rehabbed really hard for about 4 months. Couldn't lift my arm above shoulder height for about 2 months. It was miserable. I tore my MCL/PCL partial ACL wakeskating too and the pain from tearing my labrum put that to shame.
Only advice I can give if you don't go through with surgery is just rehab really hard. More than they tell you to. You know your own limits so work until you reach those. I used a lot of elastic bands in door jambs and stuff. It was tough, but I have no problems now.
