1)Sitting on a beach on the Gulf Coast with a lady friend, laughing and fooling around. Suddenly she starts freaking out and points at the sky over the water. Big orange orb in the sky. It wasnt right over us so to me it wasnt necessarily scary, but she was panicking so we left and drove home.
Afterward I rationalized it as some weird moon effect or swamp gas igniting. When I drove her home I immediately notice that the moon was a crescent that night so couldnt be moon related. Did a little research on swamp gas (methane) later bc I heard some people mistake it for UFOS. Being something big way out over the Gulf ruled that out. Maybe there is some rational explanation but I have not been able to figure one out.
2) Different girl- live in girlfriend this time in NOLA (Uptown). Lived in half of a oldish double shotgun- rehabbed after Katrina. We got home at the same time one night and the shower was on, seemingly just came on and when she went to turn it off, the vanity light exploded.
I rationalized to her that the cat probably turned the water on just climbing/jumping around and that the steam caused the bulb to explode. IN my own mind, I was thinking that that explanation was more farfetched than just having a damn ghost. Other weird things happened at that place, but nothing as dramatic as the light exploding.

I saw a UFO over Driftwood neighborhood in Kenner. It was in the mid 90s. Never could figure out what it was I was looking at.

in the 90s, my friends and I were wandering around some woods in Central. We found an abandoned house and went inside. There were cat bones all over the place. Cat paws nailed to the doors, bones in the bathtub, just everywhere.
I picked up a piece of mail and it was addressed to "Calvin's Cats Cuttery"
I sometimes have to ask those friends if we really saw that.

Bath salts. Saw the same cat running down I-12 WB at Airline that year in his birthday suit

I was writing thank you notes to people who sent flowers/food/attended my mother’s funeral. While in the middle of one note, my typical henscratch handwriting morphed into my mother’s beautiful, and very distinctive, handwriting for eight or nine words until I realized what was happening, at which point it reverted back to my own C- handwriting.

When I was about 15 years old, I spent the summer with my aunt and uncle in Alabama. I slept on a couch in the den. I was just lying wide awake when I saw a quick green flash down the Hall. I closed my eyes for about three seconds. When I opened my eyes seconds later, it was around 8:00 in the morning but I was in the same position on the couch. I did not think that I had fell asleep.

I lived on Old Row for undergrad. Second year I had Kresmir Rupnik for chemistry. A group of us left the house at the same time on Tuesdays and Thursdays and parted ways at the parade ground. I can remember walking straight to Williams to find class letting out. I asked another guy in class if it was early today and he told me no. I lost about an hour an a half with bo clue how.

At 10pm? That is wackier than the UFO explanation.

The highway leading to my childhood home had a bridge over a creek about a mile from my house. There were always stories of a ghost car around the area of that bridge. Supposedly someone was killed in an accident when their car hit the bridge. I had always heard the stories but never really paid any attention to them. One night my best friend and I went to the movies with his cousin. The cousin was from out of town but he drove us to the movies. On the way home, since he was unfamiliar with the roads, he passed mine up. As he went farther down the highway to find a place to turn around he slammed on the brakes. In the highway ahead of us was what looked like a hologram of a car. All 3 of us saw it...strange. After he hit the brakes it just disappeared. None of us could explain it.
Fast forward a couple years. I’m driving that same highway coming home late one night. I was by myself and there was no traffic. As I’m approaching the bridge over the creek there are lights from an oncoming car in the other lane. Right as we are about to meet each other at the bridge those lights go out. I keep driving but I never passed an oncoming car. It just disappeared. Needless to say I hauled arse home and got in the house with the quickness. Never have been able to explain those two incidents.
