I have a similar story but the guy chased us all over the parish. Finally he got along side and yelled out the window to follow him to the courthouse. I yelled back "yes sir" and when he took the left at the upcoming y junction I just went straight. Never heard a word about it

Count your blessings, you should have gotten worse.

There was a time when I was younger that I placed right and wrong over common sense so I probably would have been a narc just off the principle. Now that I'm older, I'm not wasting my time over 2 cases of beer.

Depends on the crime.

I've seen a couple of citizens arrests and they were awesome, the cops didn't appreciate it though. Howev er, the victims did.

Yes. Broke up a carjacking by two teenagers. Younger guy I was with chased one of them down on foot, tackled him and pinned him to the ground. Cops came. The other kid came back to the scene like an idiot. Pointed him out to the police who put his hand on his pistol, motioned for him to come over. Cuffed them both. So, one was a citizen’s arrest and one was police. Either way we turned into witnesses at that point. Turns out both were 16 and had gotten out of juvie two days before.

Many. Used to work in a 100 bed inpatient psych hospital. Unless floridly psychotic, patients are responsible for their actions. If you don’t arrest the violent one’s, it just gets worse and the wrong mix in there could and sometimes did result in chaos.

Yes I have at a football game
arrest power in many states are very similar to police but you can be liable and good sam laws do not cover you.

Happens all the time... every day. They aren't called citizens arrests. They are called detaining someone until the police arrive. Happens every single day, many times, in the U.S.A.
