Pretty sure "Squaw" wasn't an epithet but a rank in their society. A "Squaw" was typically a young apprentice to a more veteran warrior, similar to a feudal squire.

"Tonto" is an epithet.

False. Squaw's were considered full members of the tribe. Slaves were not, and only considered 3/5 of a person by the U.S. government.
