My gf and I got into a pretty big argument tonight and almost broke up. I was leaving her place when she asked "so i guess we are breaking up". I paused, and thought about this thread, and thought "man it would really suck to steal this guys breakup thunder by posting about my own on the OT on the same night". So I said "no, we arent".
And now everything is great

Get your shite you can't live without asap and leave the rest. I would keep my distance as much as possible, and if you feel the need to answer her TMs, keep them to a minimum and stick to your guns.
Saying the words "...not the last relationship I saw myself having" will really drive reality home for her, cruel as it may seem. As clean a break as you can make it is the best thing you can do for her.
