I went through that in June about 12 days before my trip. I guess the appointments are to keep from getting slammed on some days, puts a max on the number of folks walking in there on a given day. It wasn't even like a real appointment; it just gives you a place in the queue.

I was pissed that they wanted to mail mine to the house because I am local. Anyone from 2+ hours away could pick up theirs that day. I held my ground and told them I had to have it that day because of other trips between then and the overseas trip and they finally gave in.

Also, read the small print on the application,must be done in black ink,not blue. I had to redo entire application cause I used blue...
