Alexandra Cranford from the pinpoint weather center said that the unsavories won't be jumping off the porch tonight due to a front passing through the metro area. So crime will be kept to a minimum on the evening.

I'm honestly shocked that people still live in that fricking third world shithole that is New Orleans.
I could say much and more but I think most can figure out why I bite my tongue. I enjoy this site too much to get banned over something that everybody knows will NEVER change.

One of the things I did learn from being there right after Katrina hit, when there was no law, what was left of the law decided to cleanse the city of its most violent perpetual offenders, if they had hung around. Plugged my ears at that point

And they still can't build condos and apartments fast enough.
It's strange how for the past five years people from all over the country have been moving here and the city has seen a transformation like it hasn't seen in 30 years, but the mouth breathers on this board claim the city is third world. I can't even try and explain it anymore. The amount of money pouring into Nola is mind blowing. Someone, not named bubba sees something great about the city.
Disclaimer, the crime does suck. It needs to get better. The mayor is a fruit loop, the police chief is a dumbass, and yes, we still have a small group of cockroaches causing a good deal of crime all over the city.

We have big city problems with a large indigent population. It's fairly easy to avoid any crime issues though.

How many businesses are moving into NOLA? It's great that NOLA has become a bigger Charleston but let's not act like there is a flourishing economy in the city. Perhaps for service workers, the job market for professional folks is pathetic for a metro of 1.3 million.
