I would add 16.

Also, I wouldn't allow some cereals. Store brand raisin bran is fine, but Cinnamon Toast Crunch isn't.

Yeap, caffeine is a drug and they can get plain bran cereal.

If you want extra, get a job.

What’s not fluid milk?

Fluid milk is any milk for consumption.

So they can buy chocolate milk loaded with sugars.

Numbers 1, 4, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17 &19 shouldn't be eligible to purchase in the first place. That's 8 of the top 20.

Weren't the rules changed a few months ago on this? I don't think they can purchase this stuff anymore.

Has anyone ever given a reason why those things are allowable to purchase with our money?

Basically everthing in the freezer section should be banned from SNAP too.

Eh. I have far less issue with someone baking a frozen pizza or lasagna for their kids vs. someone being able to load up on luxury purchases normal people can barely afford like crab legs and boiled crawfish strictly because it has been chilled.

and one of the cheapest and least unhealthy things on the list. It also increases energy and productivity i.e. fights laziness. Black coffee has positive health benefits for the brain and liver as well. I do think we should ban sugary creamers. They can use milk if they don't like it black.

One of the most valuable lessons I learned in college was how to live on a budget .

Pizza/ beer only on a Friday or Saturday night.

Hell, I'm a petite woman. In my poor days, I'd buy a $5 Hot and Ready on Monday and have 2 slices at a time for the next 4 dinners.

Frozen vegetables are also a great way to buy more and not have it go bad. But I guess canned goods accomplish the same thing. Either way, I don't care.

But desserts, sodas, and junk snacks being allowed is some of the most mind numbingly dumb shite we do in this country and costs us ludicrous amounts of money on the front end at the purchase and back end in subsidized healthcare. Billions and billions a year combined costs.

Depends on the state...I think Louisiana did change the rules, but not sure if they're in effect.

Again, cheap as shite, not unhealthy when black or with milk, and combats laziness. Also helps curb cravings and can assist in weight loss.

Giving this can be a win for both sides.

I also think it will be difficult to implement initially. Each store has their own POS system, so you can't just like make the barcodes unscannable on banned items or anything.

You'll have to rely on store owners to enforce the rules, and I imagine the state would need to do unannounced audits, which the chances of it happening to you at that specific time are slim.

If I had to guess, a store that doesn't necessarily want EBT shoppers will comply.. while a corner store who survives on EBT shoppers will not and will take whatever fine or slap on the wrist that is likely the first offense punishment.

I'm ok with Frozen Pizzas and juice but juice needs to be regulated. No Haw Punch but Apple juice, Orange juice I'm fine with. Coffee I'm on the fence

Your bold part is silly though. Laziness is a state of mind, not result of being tired.

How do they stop you from buying alcohol or other things on it currently? I thought the system could be updated to make things unscannable?

I caught the reference, but also thought you were serious in saying we should ban coffee. Both could've been true

When I'm feeling lazy and I drink caffeine, I physically can't sit on the couch anymore

I think it's both.
