I think people believe that the government is nothing but people in offices.

Don’t confuse the govt office workers with the police force. We all know the police are understaffed.
The govt office workers are not. I don’t know if we are still #1, but we had the most govt workers per capita for some time, and even if we aren’t #1 anymore, we are probably still up there. You could get rid of at least a third of all govt workers and it would affect little to nothing.

a few years back a friend of mine knew a cop that averaged 12-14 hrs a day and also had a catering business. I think his pay from BRPD was around 180k a year. I don't know for sure but I think their pensions are 80% of the 3 highest grossing years of pay. Pretty fricked up

I would imagine certain shifts and such get “double time” etc

Or hours counted for being on call of sorts
