Physically feeling great. But I know emotionally I have a long road ahead. I really appreciate all the support from everyone.. I even got up today to throw some steaks on the grill. And hang out with my kids

That's awesome to hear.

I'm sure you've just kicked the hardest parts arse. With the determinination that you seem to have, that will help you smash through the rest of this as well.

Now is the time to find a meeting. It may take a couple tries but find a group you like. Get a sponsor.

Glad you’re feeling better today. Just hang in there. The mental part of changing your life and learning to live sober was harder to me than the physical part. It’s a long road and you just need to stay focused for you and your family.

12 step programs are bullshite. Period. You don’t need a meeting to help you quit. He has all the support system he needs.

Why do you say this? Because you didn’t need a program to get clean or do you have other reasons why?

That's just a careless statement. 12 step is the only system that works if you do your part.

I don’t agree with that but it seems pretty stupid to try and dissuade an addict from having another tool to stay sober.

I didn’t eat much of anything these 4 days. But I enjoyed that steak like it was my last supper! Lol I may have found a sponser that I can talk too. The only problem he lives in another state. But he has helped me thru this process along with OKellsBells. And I also have a good buddy that is 2 years clean. That I can pick up the phone and call him at anytime

Because you don’t have to go to a meeting to stay clean. Period. It’s all on you. I personally didn’t have to have them all the time like some people say. I catch a meeting every blue moon. But I didn’t have to go hear the same thing over and over everyday. I’ll go every once in awhile to see people I used to sponsor etc. To check up on them.

You’re entitled to your opinion but I still don’t understand why you would tell other people trying to get clean that’s it’s bullshite. It obviously works for some people so like I said above why would you try to dissuade someone from having another tool in their arsenal to stay clean?

Don't ever forget that there is a massive difference between guilt and shame. Guilt is an acceptance of what you've done. Shame is choosing to revel in that guilt. Shame isn't part of your recovery so throw that shite out the window.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Props to you for making it through one of the worst experiences I think a human can go through. Just remember the mental shite will start very soon and it can be just as hard on you as the physical shite you just went through. Use your support system to lean on and work through that shite with the same determination. Good job man.

If op even reads the 12 steps it will be a blessing. Many are high practice.

And, op, consider that you still have chemistry in some cells. So you still need to eat cleaner to get it all out. Its going to keep its claws in you physically for a while as it dumps out now and then. Apples are good. Watermelon.

My issue with 12 step is hanging with people who can't or won't. Duplicate your company. The materials are great and you apparently have a big bro on telecommunications.
Skype. Messenger. My phone does it, free.
