The day that the Holy Spirit descended upon The Disciples, marking the birth of the One True, Apostolic Catholic Church
John 20:21-23
The Sacrament of.Penance, given directly to the Apostles by Jesus himself, making them the first priests and passed down to priests throughout the centuries.
quote:
Jesus said to them again, "Peace be with you.
As the Father has sent me, so I send you."
And when he had said this, he breathed on them and said to them,
"Receive the Holy Spirit.
Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them,
and whose sins you retain are retained."
John 20:21-23

Tradition and math places God’s covenant at mt sinai to be the 50th day after they cross the Red Sea. He appeared there in “thunderings” and “lightnings”
If you look at the Hebew of that passage, that also translates to “tongues” and “fire”
In other words, Pentecoste was God’s renewal of the original covenant.

Was this a term they called themselves or was this a creation of man made afterwards?

While it's from the Latin word that means elder so I doubt people that spoke Aramaic or Greek use Latin

Even the demon's acknowledge the divine presence of Jesus.
That should tell you all you need the know about people of this time and age.
But rejoice, the gates of hell will not prevail over Gods people. Those redeemed by Christs sacrifice.

I was actually confirmed at the cathedral in downtown Baton Rouge today. I stopped going to Catholic school in 6th grade and didn’t get confirmed in high school. It was a beautiful mass.

The one true church thing is really weird.
There are many excellent churches out there with people being saved. The Catholic church is far from the one true church. There are many non Catholic churches that are not false.

It's only weird to non-Catholics.

A Karen atheist mod anchored this thread.
You can't even celebrate Christian Holidays around atheists. They are some bitter strange folks.

It's ridiculous considering some of the shite that is allowed on here. Mods have their priorities jacked up.
