Not really making excuses for them, but honestly, doesn’t America make it the natural course to take given the lifestyle? Two paychecks, Work, traffic, kids, on the go, and put quick processed crap in our mouths to live another day is the American way now. Few people really cooking at home anymore, ignorance of food in general, and everyone chasing that dollar.
A lot of factors go into all of this, and aren’t present in other countries not facing such overweight issues as we are, even very poor countries or what we consider poor countries. We have a lot of shite on demand, and quite honestly, our priorities are messed up.
We put a much higher value on bigger better homes, vehicles, entertainment, tech, vacations, etc, and very little on actual food itself. That’s got to be the cheapest, which is why we support the Walmarts, Cotscos, Targets, and Sams of this world and do whatever it takes to mortgage ourselves into oblivion for the 70k truck, 400k home, and Disney World vacation and little to nothing left over at the end of it all.
Everyone’s trying to impress the other person next to them who truly doesn’t really give a shite one way or the other, but we think they do.
