Thought it said “tribbing” and that there would be hot scissoring action in thread.

True. But the inherent begging at a lot of public customer points is getting pretty tiresome, no?

I definitely have gratuity fatigue in the US. I had dinner at a worlds top 50 contender in Guadalajara last week. Three hour ordeal, 10 course tasting menu for $170USD. Tip suggestions were 10-15-20%. Contrast that to shitty fast casual American dining with 20-25-30% suggestions. America lost the plot.

yep, had dinner at a really nice restaurant in Bordeaux, summer before last, five of us, wine, bubbles, appetizers, awesome meal, deserts, I tried to get the tab but the lady hosting us had pre-arranged to pay it, I asked if I could at least leave a gratuity, she said it's not expected, the servers are paid well, and in some cases they are offended by an offered tip, never saw the tab bbut I'll bet that dinner was close to a thousand Euros

then don’t tip anyone. What are you bitching about again?

The constant increase in frequency and amount when it comes to tipping these days. I thought that was pretty clear for most.

that's awesome, my wife is in the wine business(importing,) and a lot of her clients are in Europe, we combine trips with visiting and staying at some of the Chateaus on the winery property, I love going over there, those folks live a completely different lifestyle and just seem to have a different mindset about how they approach life, have a great trip

Got into my hotel last night and there’s a placard with a q code to tip members of the hotel staff.

I just got here, checked in on my phone, have a digital key and went to my room. No one has even helped me with anything yet. WTF

You're mad about a QR code?

pick up pizza at the counter
My local a domino's* has it set up that when you swipe your card you have to decline a tip before proceeding. Delivery pizza yes... but not when you order online, drove up, walked inside, and they simply hand you a conveyor belt cooked pizza.

ie: Always prepay online when ordering.
