Mine just started this year after COVID. Doctor said it was eustachian tube disorder (had other symptoms like ears popping, feeling full) and put me on allergy meds. Didn't help so I stopped but then it got better for a while. Then came roaring back. Saw two ENTs who are damn useless. I am still on the fence about if it is permanent or not and this thread is terrifying. It is frustrating as hell as I have always used hearing protection for shooting or running loud equipment and yet here I am. Honestly being outside is the best as I don't even notice it there. Wish I could live out there right now.

I kind of believe that the government is using Haarp high frequency signals and this ear problem is picking up this up. J/k. Google : ELF

Didn't read the whole thread, but I've read about people using white noise to help with tinnitus. It doesn't cure the issue, but it trains your brain to not pay attention to the ringing in your ears.

So, my dad hade vertigo really bad. It was not positional so it got lumped in to Meneuere disease. Tinnitus was a precursor to a bad episode with low grade tinnitus as a constant. They gave him inner ear steroid injections and slowly the vertigo and tinnitus went away. Don’t know if that’s a thing or not for tinnitus.

Had it for years. Forget I have it until I read this post and now it is driving me nuts. Kidding.

No cure that I found. Adapt and move forward has been my method.

Same, it started with a sinus infection (I get them fairly frequently), but this time I had bad ear pain as well and unable to pop my ears. After about a week the Dr gave me prednisone which helped some with the pressure, but now I have the ringing. I go back next week for a hearing test.
