Finally, someone gets it. We will never be a truly diverse place, where everyone respects and understands each other, as long as we constantly define and separate ourselves by our differences.

So they're doing away with their current diversity program and just creating a different one?

They are doing away with groups that are based on a single identity. So no more women's groups, african american groups, LGBTQ groups, Hispanic groups, etc.

Instead, they are going to create groups - probably in each service line or each office - that bring people together from all identities to work on issues that affect everyone.

In other words... there is no more Miss Black America... but they are going to try to find ways to ensure a qualified black lady can win Miss America

I have never understood this fascination with diversity. So the frick what? Why must every picture or TV show or government agency be populated with exactly just the right amount of diversity?

The most successful nation-states/empires in the world have been homogenous: Japan 19th-21st centuries, Western Europe 13th-20th centuries, the United States 1776-1960, Roman Empire/Republic 400 BC-476 AD.

In fact, once diversity becomes too great the state crumbles.

I've always had an issue with that kind of diversity - that if 22.7 percent of the population is X, then 22.7 percent of every company must also be X.

To me, diversity means ensuring everyone who wants an opportunity is not denied said opportunity just because they are black, or female, etc. That's it.

Do half of Fortune 500 CEOs have to be women? No. There are many reasons why that will never happen, but to the diversity experts, that is a problem.

To me... as long as Fortune 500 companies aren't denying women the CEO job because they are a woman... then I'm fine with it.

This is why I support investing in education in underpriviliged communities... but am completely against affirmative action

I for one enjoy wallowing around in the slop bucket of diversity.

The NBA isn't diverse at all. Technically it should be about 65% white people. But sports are too important so let's just mess with businesses and government instead.

And her entire thing was... specific identity stuff doesn't work. She's a scholar on specific identity and she says it doesn't work. She just threw her entire profession under the bus.

And she's 100 percent correct.
