If a kid wants to join the military, either they get in shape beforehand or they'll get in shape while they're in basic. As long as they're not a complete butterball before basic they're good.

I've been working with Marine recruits for years and haven't noticed them getting any fatter necessarily.

AS long as they don't mind a few weeks in the fat boy platoon at reception before they start basic.

And don't even get me started about the fricking officers.

When I was in the Navy, I crossed paths with officers who I wasn't entirely sure could walk and chew gum at the same time

Amen. How is yelling at a kid going to make them better at a sport?

Something NEEDS to be done. Americans are getting fatter and fatter. High School PE classes arent cutting it.

The government is paid to ensure school lunches are full sugars, corn, and nonfat dairy. Aka poison.

I see what you did there.

Lol

Dude, Tim Kennedy could whip your arse and bang your wife in front of you and there’s not a thing you could do to stop him. He’s also really humble. The dude was on track to be a pro fighter in his early 20s but instead joined the military, and got out and fought MMA wayyy past his prime. Then, he retired MMA and rejoined SF

My thoughts exactly. He's full of shite and the only drop in recruitment and retention stems from grown men not wanting to be involved in that social experiment that we call a military today. I was in the enlisted ranks and my advice to anyone thinking is to exhaust all options possible before joining. Or at least try to go officer route. Hell, go into student loan debt to do it. Wish someone had given me that advice.

The main reason kids can't pass the ASVAB is because of this alternative math bullshite they teach in school.

The common core “alternative math bullshite” actually puts an emphasis on better was to calculate in your head. Calculators were the big crutch for kids who grew up in the 90’s.

How does any of this crock of shite go against what I just said? The guy is a tool.

He works directly with recruiters. My recruiter friends echo the same sentiment. I’m fairly certain that someone who is involved with the process on a daily basis would know what they’re talking about.

Army recruiters aim pretty low. When you are swimming in the shallow end of C students from lower middle class to poor high schools, you can expect a ton of fat asses.

I had no idea who he was until the podcast, but he's honestly one of the greatest badasses I've ever heard of in any field. Top 5 ranked MMA fighter at one point, green beret. black belt in 5 martial arts, world class sniper. He's like Jack Reacher in the flesh and blood lol.
