This....I bought some of those little boy shorts you kids wear. I do a lot of manual labor on my properties and need extra pockets to carry tools.

OP is cargo capris and they're terrible. But I'll always wear cargo shorts with an untucked polo and either Sanuk flip-flops or tennis shoes with low ankle socks. Like, you can't see the socks. Don't even care.

This. If I see those short shorts without pockets I just assume the guy is a homo. Same as skinny jeans in my opinion.
