That's actually a pretty casual suit, that fabric and pattern aren't formal by any definition, and I think a knit tie, whether wool or silk, looks great with it.
Yep. I agree.
Good to see you posting. Haven't seen you around in a while.

The only problem I see with the suit is the tie knot, which, on a cutaway collar with a fricking vest, ought to be a full Windsor, not a four in hand. Tie length should be no issue while wearing a vest so there's really no excuse other than to purposefully show that you are edgy and like to use the opposite knot in your tie for the type of collar and material you're wearing. Looks dumb.

While I am not a fan of cutaway collars - medium spread to large spread, at most - a full Windsor is an atrocious knot - especially for a knit tie.
A BD oxford shirt would be preferable here.

No it is not. A more false statement could not be uttered. With a knit tie and a cutaway collar, it's the only knot that makes sense. Although typically with a knit tie you'd avoid the knot because it would be gargantuan.
Are you a half Windsor guy? Try the Pratt. It's much more uniform and allows for an easier dimple.

FIH or DFIH here. I typically prefer for my knot to be somewhat askew.

I'm an auditor and that's my go to suit.
