As a native american person I find it ridiculous.

One people were a part of a massive genocide, where not only were their lives taken..any way of life, history and land was taken and destroyed.
So the people participating in genocide got a new enemy and we need to feel sorry for them?
Everybody's "people" have been shite on by other people since the beginning of time. We can all find grievance. How bout we get the frick on with our lives for the sake of our kids and theirs?

Perhaps if a genocide hadnt happened, there wouldn't have been need for reservation land. Or a depression set in on a people.
There were a ton of innocent folks killed on both sides. You call it genocide because the Indians lost. If it were actually genocide, there would have been no need for reservations. A depression set in on a people? Sorry, but that is hogwash, an excuse. Even on a res, you live in the greatest nation on earth, with the absolute best opportunity for success anywhere in the world.
Tribes are completely autonomous, sovereign, and pay no taxes. There is no reason that their leaders cannot provide for their people, and demand better from them. Tribal leadership has been shite for generation after generation now.

Eh,..who cares. We've put in our years of reading countless pointless threads..sometimes we have to make them fun and readable.

This isn’t true. Tribes are not autonomous and are subject to both federal and state law. The tribe itself pays both federal and state level taxes. Tribal members are not subject to state taxes, if they live on tribal land. But each tribe is different.
Compare, let’s say, EBCI to Navajo. You think those tribes are in anyway comparable?

And no whitey, Indian or Afro America alive today had anything to do with any of it....let’s move on and learn from the past. None of the three parties have an innocent past. All have committed atrocities. It’s just fun to pick on whitey these days....so stop with the virtue signaling. Your not special and no one owes you anything.

Where did I virtue signal? You’re 100% correct and I agree with you. But you better believe that every white person in N GA and WNC that says this very thing is the descendant of a Cherokee princess and wants to get on that EBCI roll for dat check, baw

This person is clearly a Native American that was literally driven from their land in their lifetime, or an African slave.
Right?
No?

When the toddlers are murdered along with the mothers, it's not a war to "win or lose" that's not a fight. When their food source, tool source, clothing source is almost brought to extinction..just to make them suffer, that's not a regular battle people are fighting to win or lose. That is by every interpretation a genocide.

It's not an excuse, it was a reality. It's called trail of tears for a reason. Your way of life is gone. Nowadays, we are doing a lot better. Depending on the tribe I guess..not all have proper leadership.

You can’t have a discussion about the removal without first mentioning Elias Boudinot. He played as large a role in what happened during and after the removal as Andrew Jackson did.

The ironic part is that both cultures are vehemently against homosexuality and I’ve never met a native person that liked a black person. And vice versa.
