Ding ding ding dude did the right thing by saving some tax payer money. But total dumbass for talking to the cops without a lawyer present. If it's a typical traffic stop fine your being detained for ANYTHING shut your mouth and refuse any kind of test or interrogation. Hope the dude gets off he did society a favor.

I know it’s cool to be on the internet and say this is acceptabe, but in no way is it ok to chase someone down and open fire into the vehicle in any sort of decent society.

there's a reason laws exist.
yes if you are under threat of personal harm or defending your property unload on a the criminal all day, but if you are chasing down a vehicle and firing shots in a neighborhood, it has moved from defending your property to endangering others.
