Gotcha
FWIW if I'm not working I usually recline the seat and take a nap. If the person behind me asked that I didn't (politely), I would have no problem sitting up.
I normally figure if it is causing that much trouble someone will let you know.

I travel frequently for work and I always recline the seats. I couldn't give less fricks about the person sitting behind me.

one more reason to be glad that I never ride in steerage

Why the frick would it be rude? The seat reclines, recline it if you want. Jesus some of you people.

People who do it are disproportionately the type who do other rude shite on flights, in my experience. Like the douche who rushes to the front and fricks up the orderly deboard process. Or the girl who brings laughably oversized luggage and pouts when shite doesn't fit.
If you're on an international flight on a decent plane, fine, do whatever you want. But on a 90 minute jaunt?

The seats recline. Recline it if you want.
I'm 6'2" tall and it does not bother me when someone in front of me reclines their seat.

That is ridiculous. I can't sleep sitting straight up and the seat doesn't even recline very hard. the person behind you can just recline their seat as well if they need more room.

I do it on overnight flights

Not even a little bit rude. If they require a lot of room they can pay for it

Imagine if the person seated behind has their seat reclined and complains about you having yours reclined...

I'm 6'3"and I am fricked if someone reclines and you will know when you recline BC it will hit my knees. Since I am aware of how uncomfortable it is for me I will not recline on someone unless they are a very small person.

I don't like it but I'm not going to get mad at the person. I did, however, get a little perturbed when the person in front of me reclined while I was holding and trying to corral an 11 month old on my lap. I giggled when she pulled her hair. teehee.

People going to be split on this. But if you can knowingly cause discomfort to another individual just so you are slightly more comfortable you are probably just a shitty person...

What a bunch of pussies. The seats literally recline like 25 degrees. If you are super tall or huge then you should use the option of buying seat with more leg room. If someone wants to recline the seat that they paid for, that comes with that option then they should be able to. I'm usually way more uncomfortable by the fat person next to me eating doritos and hogging both armrest. If you pay for a seat that reclines then you should get to use that function how you see fit. If you are 6'8" and feel you don't have room, the airline is your problem, your inability to pay the extra 50 bucks for the seat with leg room is your problem, not the person in front of you.

I look to see who's behind me first. Small person or child and its a long flight? Sure. 6'8", fat, Alabama fan? Sure.
Any other situation, no.

I appreciate when someone looks back and asks. Shows me they aren't an entitled frick.

probably the most meaningful and intelligent comment ever made on this board, and it applies to a lot more than just airplane seat backs

I love ppl who reline their seats and order a drink for 30min flights from Houston to Dallas.
