You are the biggest douchebag on this site, and that's saying something. Congratulations bud

I don't celebrate Christmas as the original Christians would have never celebrated it. I don't celebrate Pagan Holidays.

Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus, the idea of Christmas was first invented by Roman Pagans with the festival of Saturnalia (worship of the God Saturn) which Christians later stole the idea from to create Christmas and to appeal to Pagans. Jesus was not born on December 25.
But isn’t it nicer that we get to have a holiday with colder weather and lights and snow and festive traditions Shared by many cultures than some completely religious holiday in March, devoid of any of the trappings that make it fun?
Maybe it doesn’t matter. But I’m glad that those early pioneers of Christmas saw fit to combine the old ways with the new ones and gave us something worth celebrating, in the bleak midwinter.
Reality is a drag. And sometimes even a fantasy is worth the escape of the mundane

I make no apologies for celebrating Christmas, which is a Christian holiday. The date means nothing, as a day had to be set. I'm glad the early Church chose a pagan holiday as the date, as the kingdom expanded by doing so. Advent and Eastertide are my top liturgical seasons and that will never change.

Yep. He lives in a townhouse and calls us all rednecks. It is pretty awesome

It really stings when the Louisiana peeps that manage to get out and move to the uhhhmazing city of Dallas look down on us peons still stuck in backwoods Louisiana. It always makes me feel so inadequate when these winners tell me how awesome their lives are. It’s really disheartening, especially this time of year, to know I’ll never be successful enough to live the super chic metropolitan lifestyle they get to enjoy. I mean, only the best get to move all the way to east Texas. And everything is so great there. There’s so much to do, that they don’t have to turn to silly things like God or Christmas to get some sense of fulfillment in life.

Merry Christmas Baws and Maws. If you believe, may Christ continue to bless you in ways you don’t even know yet. And if you don’t believe, I ask for Christ to do the same for you. Anybody is welcome to come to church with me anytime, just shoot an email

festive traditions Shared by many cultures
Japan is less than 1% Christian and likewise mostly devoid of Christian traditions. They also went through the weird progression of - nuked them, hated us briefly, wanted to be just like us.
The last bit of wanting to be like us included Christmas but there are even fewer turkeys over there than there are Christians so traditional fare wasn't practical.
This problem begged a solution and the man to give it to them was an enterprising KFC franchisee. He started the now thoroughly ingrained Japanese Christmas tradition of a meal of Kentucky Fried Chicken.
Special holiday bowls/buckets are ordered weeks in advance containing fried chicken (of course), cakes and liquor. Regular menu items will suffice but patrons can expect to wait in line for hours to get served.
Little yellow devils thoroughly amuse me.

If you think that you aren’t well versed. Yule may be bleak and less festive but the celebration of survival against the odds is still a testament to the triumph of man against the elements.
Krampus and other Nordic-Germanic traditions are joyous in their own ways and indicative of the harsh underlying culture that formed these people.

Jesus was probably born in late September. But if you do the math, He was conceived on or around December 25th. Christmas has everything to do with Christ.
