re: This NOLA baw summed up the Confederate statue removals perfectly

It was you who contrived the connection between crime and statues.
In the end it was a vanity project to not construct but tear out artwork while forcing fake guilt propaganda. The entire effort left behind visible eyesores and tons of bad feelings. Perhaps the philanthropic effort could have went towards educating citizens why shooting each other in broad daylight is wrong, making sure critical canal arteries are clear of car blockage or preventing buildings from flopping over. At the least they should've finished the job, but, that wouldn't have increased the total of valuable feeling points earned.

The statues in question are vanity projects. Dismissal of statue relocation as a vanity project is projection.

Dude, you got all emotional over this topic
I no longer live there so the criminal antics of the clown show that runs the place don't affect me. I simply made a joke, tying in the banning of tandem floats and the idiocracy taking down the statues.
It was a simple play on words, not a life changing thought, or a deep thought. Captain Persnickety, with his mouthful of lemons, rushed in telling me what I meant to say. He didn't get it, and apparently you have joined him.
It was simple, Elsa. Let it leave.

It’s amazing that there are still people openly displaying racism on a popular message board in the year 2020.
It’s achingly stupid to complain about the removal of antique participation trophies for dead racist traitors.

Concerning my dumb friend and her take on where the money came from:
Since you are an expert, how was the cash earmarked (you know, the money that was supposed to be supplied by private donors, but instead came out of the city coffers)?
Was it earmarked "statue removal?" Yeah, I didn't think so. She was wrong.
What is sad is that you would rather have the poor in New Orleans go through the hardship of recovering from a flood, rather than admit that the money would have benefited those in need if it had been spent wisely.
In my book that makes you a disingenuous piece of shite.
You know...a NOLA Democrat.

She is probably right. Not you.
It all depends on how certain money from certain sources is earmarked for use.

1. Fake news.
2. So stupid yet you take the time to read the thread and comment? Sure ok.

Robert E Lee himself said these statues were a terrible idea, that’s good enough for me.

If the above makes sense to you, defending antique participation trophies for dead racist traitors might make sense to you. So there’s that.

Imagine being such an authoritarian that you think because you don't like or are offended by something that nobody else should be able to view it. Again, American progressives are more dangerous to monuments than radical Islamists.
Imagine being such an idiot that you think the only way a good ol baw can view racist participation trophies is in a public square. I’m sure you can find pictures of those confederate assholes on the internet. I bet there’s even clubs you can join with likeminded racists where you can share pics of dead racist traitors and dress up and play racist traitor army. Knock yourself out. It’s a free country.
