This is the most idiotic overreaction to anything I have ever seen (long)

Yes I understand why things are being done. To “flatten the curve”. To avoid overwhelming our healthcare system.
However, by shutting down sports, cancelling class, meetings, gatherings, etc, you will still overwhelm the healthcare system.
Now at the first sign of a cough and a runny nose the average idiot american will run to a hospital to get tested. For what exactly? So they can tell that you are positive and you need to stay home, drink fluids, and take otc meds? A virus has to run its course. You should be doing those things if you are sick anyway. And now the people who really need medical care won’t get it because of the panic canceling these things will cause.
What about controlling the spread of the disease? Give me a a fricking break. You think people are going to sit inside for the next three weeks because there are no sports or concerts? Unless you sit everyone in a fricking cleanroom, its going to spread. Think about all the nasty mofo’s eating at Ryans, Golden Corral, chinese buffets all touching the same spoon and then all the people they will come into contact with over the course of a day.
Hooray for no March Madness.

I am offended you lumped Ryan’s in with Golden Corral.
Ryan’s is a classy steakhouse!

All of the people here thinking they need to share their personal opinions on the virus is fun

Stop using logic! Just start panicking!

I expect nothing less from someone at your intellectual level to think 207 words is a long post.

You're just young. I knew a guy who had to paint his door frame with lambs blood to keep his first born alive. Can you imagine?

Who made you Surgeon General?

How do you think the medical system is being used now? A large patient population already uses the ER as a primary care facility. They will continue to do so for the end of time as long as Medicaid is a payer.

I’ll try to have a civil discussion - in your opinion, should the Thunder vs. Jazz NBA game been cancelled upon hearing of a Jazz player testing positive?
After that - should the Pels vs Kings game have been played after knowing that a Jazz player tested positive?

Yes and Yes. Gobert sits out, rest play.
If Rudy had the Flu this is what would have happened

Apparently, you don’t.

Ok - and now there’s another Jazz player that has tested positive. If they play, it’s likely spread to someone on OKCs team.
Don’t you think that at this point the players would refuse to play? There’s no one on this board that would go to work in extremely close quarters with co-workers who are presumed to have the flu.
Take this situation and apply it to college athletics. Now there are hundreds of presumably infected athletes traveling through multiple airports. If that was the flu, as you say, would the general population be ok with the decision to play those basketball games?

And the rest of the team would've had the flu vaccine

Drive through testing would handle that
