I've been in the Austin area for over 15 years now, granted I've never lived inside the city limits.
While the influx of people coming here sucks, the vast majority of people I've met from NY and Cali are conservative. Or have recently made the switch to being conservative. Nearly all of them I've talked with complained about housing prices, taxes, crime, and everything else brought on by liberal policies. Again, this is in the suburbs. Go downtown and it will be the exact opposite. Not a problem for me though. Outside of work, I completely avoid downtown. It's definitely not the same Austin I came to know.
That said, there's no worry of this happening in BR. BR simply doesn't have anything to offer to draw people in.

Less whites than blacks but you won't find a minority designation anywhere for caucasion
