that's not big money baw, not lifetime, gfy money, net is even less for a pro athlete, agent, federal/state taxes, taxes to every state a game is played at, probably two residences, taking care of family/friends, and of course, the lifestyle, gots to look the part, would be shocked if there's a penny of NFL money left over

He was a first round pick and played over half his career in Florida, where there's no state income tax. He also was, at least at one point, working for the SEC network. He obviously didn't make enough money to be F You rich, but with that cash flow he shouldn't have to be selling insurance. He should have investments in real estate and shite and not be working.

League minimum is almost half a mil a year. If I had banked that much cash in that short amount of time I'm not selling P&C in fricking Mobile

Even if he was able to save half his gross...that's still less than $2M in the bank. Won't go far at 35.

I'd be it's closer to $1M given agents fees, taxes, trainers, off-season and season residence, spouse/family travel, etc.

Were you ever a 21 year old athelete? That money gets spent really fast. Agents, taxes, cars, houses, clothes, girls and anyone and anything that has its hands in your pockets. Half a mill turns into zero pretty fast.

He did what most of us would do. If I made that kind of cash at 21, I would live in a strip club.

but with that cash flow

as I said, doubt there's any NFL $ left, if he has a family to support he's got the same or more expenses as the rest of us, got a lot of outflow, need income, plus, why wouldn't you want to keep active, too young to retire and just sit around pounding your pud all day, although...

ETA: as far as investments, just because a young undereducated 20-something is handed a pile of money it doesn't mean they'll use it wisely

You can go to the strip club and not spend all your money. He also was a first round pick so I surmise his career earnings are at least $10m

He probably likes to work, be around people, sell stuff? You sound miserable.

I guess if selling insurance in a mid market in Alabama is your dream, then yeah.

I would live for a bit more than that though

Some people like to be financially responsible. The dumbest thing someone with money in the bank can do, is nothing and live from that money in the bank.

Once can still live a little bit without being stupid about it.

Stinchcomb works for a boutique corporate insurance firm.

They're all 100% commission based so he comes and goes as he pleases, plays in charity golf tournaments, makes appearances, and goes to lunch with clients. His undergrad is in Finance and he's gone to a Harvard Executive Education class.

It's clear he still enjoys learning and working, and has a job that gives him flexibility while lucrative.

That just sounds like a miserable profession if you don't have to do it. Why not do commercial real estate? It's still sales and infinitely more interesting
