Shorter timespan, but I recommended my sweet "Morphie" iPhone case to about ten people over a few months, even showed them the website to order it, before I noticed it was "Mophie." I looked at it every single day under my home button. Made me wonder what important stuff I was looking at but not seeing.

Also when I was little I lived in a two story house, biggest on our street. I would look at a map of Louisiana and would think that top flat northern border of the state was the top flat roof of our house.
