Things we don't miss: Rolling Barricades

Once upon a time in Louisiana, the state police would use rolling barricades to slow down traffic. That means two troopers would drive their cars side by side at the posted speed limit on the interstate. Really fun if the speed limit was 55 or even 65. Few things ticked off people towards the police as that little stunt did.

They still do this on 10 for the overpass work

Had to do it when Entergy pulled conductor over the interstate

It is illegal to purposefully block traffic flow...even if you are law enforcement.

And all this does is make people change lanes and try to pass up a vehicle, not knowing they will never achieve anything. It causes more problems and wrecks a couple miles behind them. It's no different than the citizen who says I'm getting in the left lane and going 70 or slower to force everyone to drive slow. It's aggravating

I have never seen this in Louisiana in my 43yrs.
