Breckenridge is always a preferred town for skiers because it's laid out nicely and has a lot of bars and restaurants. I'm not a fan of the slopes there, but the town itself makes it a great trip for the casual vacation skier. You will enjoy the hell out of it.
Agreed. It's a perfect place for casual skiers. I live an hour and a half away from Keystone/Dillon/Breck and my inlaws have a place there. My kids are young and far from athletic, but can ski Schoolmarm no problem...
Just a side note to the OP- be careful about driving after dark there. There are so many speedtraps and they hand out DUI's at an alarming rate. Cab service can be a bit tricky, but I imagine there are several ski bum Uber drivers available.

You need suggestions on what to do in an amazing mountain town in central US?
I am thoroughly glad that you are not a friend of mine.

It's too late for skiing and too early for rafting, hiking, biking. Many of the bars and restaurants will be closed because May is the off season. It's pretty much the worst time of year to go.

Rent a jeep or UTV and explore some trails on your own. High passes will be closed with snow but anything below the tree line should be good if it's late May.

It wasn't a troll atempt. I feel bad that you have to ask for recommendations in a town like that.
Ask for recommendations in Indianapolis, not breckenridge.

if you get altitude sickness, make sure to check out this place Vida-Flo in downtown. I got terrible altitude sickness but they fixed me up in a few minutes
