Did they ever open the children's museum by City Park, they have a nice park there for kids as well.
No, the Knock Knock Children's Museum is still under construction. I think it's supposed to open next year. The playground near there at City Park is nice though and you can usually find some ducks to feed at the LSU lakes nearby.
LASM (Louisiana Arts & Science Museum) has a kids' play area. There are walk-through fountains near the Old State Capitol and the Shaw Center, so if you plan to walk around downtown, you might want to bring a change of clothes for the little one.
Bluebonnet Swamp Center has a boardwalk through the swamp and a nature center.

Go see the USS kid, Rock Star racing, Laser Tag, take them to LSU's campus to go all the stuff people go there to see, let them go feed a squirrel in the quad. Go check out the lakes by campus, the zoo.. On there are some other stuff downtown. Let them go run in the water that squirts from the ground at what use to be known as The Shaw Center (whats it called now?). Go eat somewhere you can only eat at in BR, go see homeless people down College Dr. Give them a true BR experience by going get stuck in traffic.
