I posted my Uber bill from Monday night like 3 times in this thread and the total was $4.58. It's such a joke that this loser keeps lying about the $5 minimum!

Didn't say that. Just saying that this happens all the time customer will leave and not call and cancel. I just know that not everyone is being 100% honest in their stories. If you read back, I said we get all the info sent to our terminals. This includes the time the customer called in. We get more no shows within the 20 min time frame than any.

No, I read, and you responded to a specific anecdote and then I responded to you.

She doesn't ride in cabs ever by herself though because there are never female drivers. She knows two women that were raped by cab drivers. One in Nashville and one in New Orleans. One conviction and one was too drunk to remember anything but she was left beaten on the side of the road.

They must have changed the policy from the last time I read it then. It used to be you had a certain time period to cancel it.

It maybe different in other cities but that's been the case for the 3 years I've used them here

That's hilarious

the app does say $5 minimum. i havent used it yet. honestly money is the least of my worries. i'd gladly pay $5 extra to get real service.

now $20 extra is starting to push it but we arent talking about that much of a variance.

This just screams tons of liability issues. If you get into a wreck, does Uber assume liability? This just seems like a disaster.

The concept is good but as a parent, I'd be so pissed if my kid decided to drive. I hope they have a mandatory age limit of 21 plus.

Grad students with nice cars and a nice attitude that charge less for rides are nazis? The a-hole cab drivers that lie about credit card machines, are usually assholes, take longest route possible, and have disgusting vehicles are not to blame here?

You do realize Uber and Lyft wouldn't be around if cab systems were acceptable.

Necessity is the mother of all invention.

I think you have to have a pretty low cost vehicle to make any money with this and a low threshold. I've seen them advertise at $18 a hour. Must mean most people average about 12-14 a hour- operating costs of fuel, overhead, wear/tear.

It just seems like a losing gig in this town. You'd have to drive a paid off hybrid to see any return.

Dude I looked at your bill and without the stupid promotion that you I guess cant see your bill was over $5.00 in fact it was 25% discount for the 2 week promo they are running. That is why I left it alone.

Right now minimum fare is $5 as a promotional thing. Isn't it $5 everywhere at the moment? And how many times do you take a cab thats less than $5?

Also, Uber doesn't charge for additional passengers. So 4 of you can split the fare for 1 person.

And the cancellation fee only applies if you wait too long, I have cancelled several with no issue.

then the drivers will quit working for them if it is not worth their time. Capitalism at its finest.
