Not being able to sustain a fight after you sucker punch someone is not being able to fight back but rather being too stupid to not start a fight you can't win.

I’ve read that possibly a million total people have died in the Russia/Ukraine war. I know they don’t have exact figures but it’s crazy to think that while we sit here and debate or put Ukraine flags on our Facebooks, that many people have died in a war in Europe over the past few years. Even if the total is half that, you wouldn’t think that would go on in this day and age.

Wasn’t the Battle of Port Hudson one of the bloodiest of the Civil War…and actually happened after the war was officially over?

Not the bloodiest. Port Hudson was the longest military siege in US history until Khe Sanh in Vietnam.

Also Grant was given credit for conquering the Miss River when he took Vicksburg. Port Hudson held on longer and when Vicksburg fell they threw a lot of stuff in the river so the Conf soldiers in PH would know it fell.

Port Hudson was a military science study for many years because so few soldiers defended a 7 mile defense line. PH fell into historical oblivion when the Miss River moved away from it and none of the officers there were historically important like Grant

The Siege of Port Hudson lasted for 48 days (May 22-July 9, 1863). The Siege of Petersburg (June 9, 1864-March 25, 1865) lasted for 289 days.

That's because when Vicksburg fell it made the Confederate position at Port Hudson completely untenable.

Funny how that did not get much play in the news.
US media only plays to what they are told to by certain intelligence agencies. No money to be made in Rwanda or South America.

I think it’s more that most western countries don’t care about most African, Latin American, or Asian countries with a few exceptions (Japan, SK, etc)
