At $35 per week for fuel you are spending almost $22,000 on gas in 12 years.

That doesn't factor in the thousands you'd also save in routine maintenance as well as non-routine repairs over 12 years from an EV compared to an ICE vehicle.

When gas is $6-7 a gallon, people think they are saving money doing this.

Until they realize how much it is going to cost to charge up in the peak power season in Cali.

This is my favorite part. When you realize i know more about this than you and have to resort to a personal attack.

To respond to your point, Tesla was out of credits, the IRA changes were unclear at the time and my wife wanted the car she wanted. We also make too much money to qualify for them anyway. She drove her Lexus for quite a while so she deserved to get the car she wanted and I didn't really care to put her off to save a couple bucks.

Now back to what i know about the tax credits. If you have a 401K or pension, there's an almost 100% chance that the people who manage your funds have paid me to advise them on the things i listed. I hope that helps you sleep better.

The fact that you feel the need to give your credentials tells me you aren't very confident in your opinion here.

This is why I personally direct my 401k investment elections. Guys like this. He clearly doesn't know what he's talking about but people actually listen to him about investment elections.

Again, I present the graph above showing the extreme progress and middle finger in the face kind of forward thinking that has made California the shining example of what to do since 2006.

And over half of that graph is wanting to be eliminated in a decade.

And here you are trying to tell us “tha storage in car batteries will fix it!!!!!”

Wrapped up and fed to you by the same people who is trying to kneecap an entire state’s energy stability. After already kneecapping their water supply abilities.

Only if you're lucky enough to never need to replace the battery.

You still don't know where I fit into this, and i don't care to provide anymore clarity. And your lack of engagement on my original offer to have a serious conversation about it coupled with your inability to immediately notice the lie in the original point about the tax incentives tells me everything I need to know.

They apparently want it. They repeatedly vote for it. They can like it.

When did i ever say it is THE fix? It will help and do a lot to stabilize the grid. Back to that thinking in absolutes thing.

Do you want to have a separate conversation about my opinions on grid generation mix? I'd be happy to do so. No one here is advocating for shutting down O&G plants or against nuke. Go fight that boogey man somewhere else because it's not me. I'm simply stating that storage technology and distribution will have a significant impact in the future. Not thats it's THE solution to our problems because there is no singular solution.

Never worked with them. Not really been on my radar, I have enough keeping up with the clients I do have.

No blackouts "ever" isn't really the standard here.
Yes I know. You are the dumbass who said blackouts "at all" is a failure.

California has blackouts REGULARLY.

I contend that their issues are nowhere near as bad as you believe. They are a very populous state that half the country loves to hate, the news cycle overblows everything.

When they get to a level of any typical state, let's talk.

Show me that they aren't. I am fairly certain that California is well into the top half of states in terms of grid uptime per customer. Might even be top 10. I will find the data when I get home tonight or tomorrow since I know you are too lazy to do it.

Like everything the "green energy" crowd predicts, this will be clearly wrong within a handful of years and people will pretend they never said it.

Compared to the anti green crowd who at every turn told us how Tesla would never amount to anything then EVs will never be a thing and that once the legacy automakers get in the EV game it was game over for Tesla...kinda like pretending they never said things like that?

The north east MS grid from TVA has been rock steady for decades.

Sorry bro, northeast Mississippi is not significant.

Now if you want to talk about the larger TVA service area, we can discuss their recent rolling blackouts.

What’s the shape of it from 5 years ago till present? 10? From 2006 till present?

For reference from the California energy commission:

I don't know what point you're trying to make by showing a more diversified energy mix.

It's cheaper to charge than get a tank of gas comparatively.

I guess I didn't realize ICe engines all last forever, no go out...even though that actually happened to me, but it must have been a dream.

You've twice thrown a couple of acronyms his way, and he immediately deflected and basically said "I don't need to know anything about this subject, but I know" in both responses.

US News and World Report.

Number 46 in energy infrastructure… number 35 in reliability by this publication.

So nope and nope.

Behind every southern state but Louisiana in infrastructure. And Louisiana has hurricanes to deal with pretty much every year to skew their number.
