and ... NO F/A 18 squadron has/had call sign of Dusty....

and neither are fighter or strike fighter squadron bird number 2 digit and... if and when they are... they don't start with a 5.....

still think this is bullshite..... and any military aviator would call a hornet and FA 18 not F18

.. every, eagle crew and tomcat driver and backseater I have heard describe them as FA... as if the A... was almost derogatory....

still remember hearing 4 tomcats get "warning yellow weapons hold.. .I repeat warning yellow weapons hold" the pitch in the voice of every response - was noticeably different than it was on the previous exchanges...... and all the chatter went silent.....

there were no growlers when I was in the navy... the growlers and.. "whales" were carrier based ECM and VAQ birds....

Dude was just telling a story, if a guy checks in on a freq, he’s not going to say “center, this is Dusty five-zero, an F/A-18 hornet,” i it will just be Dusty 50, so give the dude some poetic license

Out of all the shite a SR71 pilot could embellish, a speed check isn't even close to being on the list of possible bullshite they could spew.

just saying.. first number in a hornet's ID would not be a 5 unless it was a 3 digit number........

Probably a drone, pretty easy to do, actually harder to not do, so your buddies can get off a few shots
