The Sad Life of the Squat Rack

The most misused and ridiculed piece of equipment in the gym. It's not the squat rack's fault people are stupid.
Today I watched my gym's poor squat rack being used for some form of semi vertical push-ups.

it's awesome when I'm trying to do squats and some fig is curling on the rack

This is way down on my list of things to bitch about in a gym.

I don't understand the obsession people have with the squat rack. I can see using it for maybe overhead press but that is about it. I want to squat on the squat rack, not watch some clown doing curls on it.

I have a power cage in which I do all kinds of crazy shite, baw. Pullups, pushups, squats, dips.
To each his/her own I guess.

So they were also semi-horizontal too?
Yes I suppose so. It was more like push offs than push ups.
I mean I can almost understand curling in the rack but push offs?

Got a bad back and don't want to have to bend down and pick a barbell up off the ground to curl, hence the squat rack baw. I pay just as much for my membership as you.
