Yeah I get it, and you won't find anyone on this forum that hates media trying to vilify firearms more than me. But, an M4 CAN fire at a speed of around 600 rounds per minute in short burst. Just like it is universally agreed a cheetah can run 65-75 miles per hour, but cannot run 65 miles in an hour. Refuting an objective fact makes you sound just as disingenuous.

I wasn't trying to argue a cheetah. You said a car and I was simply saying a car CAN do that for an hour. Also, M4 =/= AR15. My argument simply is that an AR cannot and will not shoot 900 rounds in 1 minute. I'm not refuting that an AR CAN shoot at a rate of 900 rounds a minute I am just saying it won't actually shoot that many in a 1 minute duration.

You are assuming the car has enough gas in it to make it 80 miles.
As you pointed out an AR15 =/= M4. An AR15 is a semi automatic rifle and of course would not be able to achieve anywhere near the cyclic firing rate of a select fire M4, which are the numbers more inline witht he rate you are referencing. I was trying to be nice by not pointing out you kept incorrectly stating an AR15 CAN shoot 900 rounds per minute by just substituting M4 into my responses.
I'm just saying if you were trying to persuade your friends that what the author may have made it sound like, I didn't read the article, is not reality I would not start by trying to reinvent the way speed is measured.

I know the rate at which M4s shoot and realize that 900 is completely ridiculous number for an AR15 but there are more articles than the very first one I found that state 900 rounds. Again, saying it can shoot 900 rounds in a minute is disingenuous and a lie.
