I'm completely convinced that if you replaced the term "Jim Crow" with something else, liberals and minorities would fully support "separate but equal" laws.

Not sure if this is a rant against the Reveille or not (first couple of posts center on Tigerland) but when I was at LSU the Reveille was solid - mix of campus info, humor, sports, etc. This was 97-01 - anyone there at this time agree? when did it go downhill? Even the letters to the editor were solid. If I remember correctly there was a controversy about the "Plantation Room" in the union that got a lot of write ins.

I will say that it was better in 97 than it was in 01.

Good point. It is exactly what they push for. Same goes for all the libs wanting boys to be able to use girls restrooms. The boy being repressed's "rights" are more important than the girls' who dont want a boy watching them shower.

I've got no problem with the dress code at a private establishment, but no all white tennis shoes is a bit goofy.

If someone is wearing all white shoes, but meets the rest of the dress code, I don't really get the point of keeping them out, but it's not my call.

On another note, the fact that the word microaggressions even exist is absurd.

en Southern University, Southeastern Louisiana University and LSU’s homecomings fell on the same weekend a few years ago, Paris Tate, a 21-year-old black and gay man, chose to celebrate in Tigerland — the quintessential hangout spot for young LSU students about a mile from Death Valley.

When he approached the entrance of Reggie’s, he said the doorman turned him away because he was wearing white shoes and earrings forbidden in the bar’s dress code.

“I was with a few friends, and when I found out I couldn’t get in, they didn’t go in,” Tate said. ”We all stood outside.”

Tate said he watched as the doorman allowed someone else wearing similar shoes into the bar—a young white man.

well since he's black AND gay I guess we'll just have to accept his word that's exactly how it played out.

That's some serious SJW street cred

The Reveille has lost a lot of respect and credibility over the years. It reflects the field of journalism very well actually.
