Cat ownership in childhood has now been reported in three studies to be significantly more common in families in which the child is later diagnosed with schizophrenia or another serious mental illness," the authors reported in a press release.
Anti-vaxxers cite bullshite studies all the time. CDC says:

Once infected with Toxoplasma is my cat always able to spread the infection to me?
No, cats only spread Toxoplasma in their feces for a few weeks following infection with the parasite. Like humans, cats rarely have symptoms when infected, so most people do not know if their cat has been infected. The Toxoplasma shedding in feces will go away on its own; therefore it does not help to have your cat or your cat's feces tested for Toxoplasma.

dogs who are admittedly filthy creatures
I wouldn't call a dog filthy. Dirty, but a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I was one who always hated cats and grew up with dogs. I finally gave in to my wife (no pics) and daughters (no pics) and let them get one, a male Siamese. We got him neutered a few months ago and he is indoors. I love that fricker, he fetches, wrestles the boys, climbs the freaking windows and gets on top of doors, playful as helll. We have 0 bugs in our house
Wife and daughters keep litter changed out daily or at worst every other day. I never knew a cat can be so playful and outgoing. Now when a visitor comes over, it's another story, he hauls tail and hides.
