...should be to legitimately unlock our mental boundaries. As I gratefully finish off my Z-Pak to kill the crud I wonder why we spend billions (trillions?) to heal our bodies and not do the same to develop drugs that actually enhance specific parts of the brain to increase productivity or an ability to learn? Surely this kind of testing has been going on for decades so is there a reason it is not available or not achieved? It takes us into Sci-Fi realm but one group willing to be test subjects could be responsible for creating new vaccines, environmentally friendly energy and new replenishable food and water sources.
To take this one step further: what would be the consequences of a society where everyone was as intellectual as the next person? (amazingly, this is not a drunk post). Post is too long, but I know there are smarter minds that can fill in the blanks...

Government wants to keep us dumb. Can you imagine a political environment where everybody was just as smart as everybody else?

Government (read democrats) needs dumb people.

I'm curious what would happen to things like politics and religion. What if the super-intellects debunked everything we have to been led to believe about the origin of our universe? What if they began identifying the political powers that be as harmful to our future? Change may not come peacefully.

It was at one point, until the US outlawed things like MDMA and passed drug analog laws. MDMA had legitimate therapeutic value until it started being abused. Look up the story of Darrell Lemaire. He was working on a "smart drug" at one point.

I'd honesty be fine with a drug that shrinks ones skull down to the size of the person's brain so that you immediately can tell what kind of fricking idiot you are about to deal with.

Whales and elephants have much bigger brains than humans, and we have about the same brain-to-body mass ratio as mice. Sooooo I don't think brain size had anything to do with intelligence

The redpills are already out there. No cognitive enhancement needed.
