Exactly. There's a sub Reddit filled with people regretting having kids. Some downright despising the kids

It was posted on here awhile back. Most of the holier than thou parents on here shite all over them. I don't know why. The people were just being honest. People make mistakes all the time. Sometimes that mistake is having kids

Absolutely. But it’s sure going to be hard when you’re 45 and dealing with toddlers.

That's fair and completely fine. No one should have kids if they don't want them.

That said, well rounded, educated people are the ones who should be having kids for the betterment of the planet so we can hope to curtail Idiocracy, but that's not relevant.

you're slightly off base here. I am sure there are some people who may regret kids, but it is probably due to a lot of other circumstances, not simply the kids. Kids are Awesome and you truly don't realize how awesome they are until you have your own. Nieces and nephews, friends baby, new puppy, etc just don't create the bond that your own child does.

Oh I get that. I should be a person that has kids. My friends have told me that.

The kids create the circumstances for plenty of those people. That's the whole point

Totally understood. I didn’t have my first until I was 30. I absolutely refused to have any until that age so I get where you’re coming from. I had too much other shite I wanted to do. Partying. Traveling.

100%. I see people on my Facebook with the , “OMG, I can’t believe it’s been two months!” and acting like it’s some birthday. “Time flies!” “Bitch, STFU! Let me know when they’re 9 and 7 and barely remember them being small babies .”

I know that da, I was.

I can’t fathom 3 pregnancies at 19 as being planned but you never know.

Not necessarily, how many of these people had a kid to try to save a relationship, or were fairly broke before having kids but then bitch about how kids are too damn expensive.

No kids (if you’re over 32 and don’t have kids, let’s face it, there’s something wrong with you where you haven’t held down a relationship for whatever reason or you have a SERIOUS flaw).

I'll be 32 with no kids, but I'll have been married for 7 years at that point

He’s a little bit right.

I regretted mine until they were 3-4 and not crying every fricking hour and shitting in their diaper by the hour

I love my kids and that second statement is only half true because the newborn and toddler stage sucks.

Now they just fight one minutes and love each other the next.

Why am I a dumbass?

The girl is an extreme outlier. Our (not you and I, me and them) conversation was about normal people in the typical age and life situations.

This is so true and kids do not come with an instruction manual. Life can hit hard and everything you thought was rock solid can crumble, financial and otherwise.

Infancy sucks, but I think the toddler stade is amazing (80% of the time). Watching them learn something new every day; a new word, a new trick, laughing, somersaults, every day it's something new and it's awesome to watch.

How old are your children?

Mine are grown and despite my shortcomings they turned out to be good men. That is the best feeling. Looking back it was hard and I struggled alone for a long time but seeing them now makes every sacrifice and every tear worth it.

It’s gets much better as they get older. I’m sure I’m going to get back to regretting them when they’re teens like I’ve been warned.
